This should be interesting..
May 9, 2008Well folks, my whole family will be here for the weekend. My younger brother is flying in tomorrow morning with his wife Christel, and my chosen sister Annette is flying in tomorrow night. They are all staying at my house along with my oldest brother Larry and his daughter Alex. This will be the first time in YEARS we have all been under the same roof for more than a couple of hours. It should be interesting to say the least.
My mother finally has a clue as to her health situation being bad. She still doesn’t understand HOW bad she is, but I think she’s getting the hint. She’s going to be receiving chemotherapy tomorrow. We don’t really know the actual cause of what is going on. It could either be viral, or auto immune. What ever it is, its very unusual in the way it is presenting itself, and resistant to all of the usual treatments so far.
Pray that my brothers are on their best behavior and they don’t wear me out this weekend. I know Annette will be helpful (if she doesn’t get food poisoning this time). I hope that having everyone here will make my mother smile for Mother’s day.
I am absolutely exhausted. I just hope I can make it through all of this. I am really starting to hurt. My body is warning me that it can’t be pushed too much further.
It will be an interesting weekend for sure….
Oh wow it most definitely is going to be an interesting weekend, I vote take out for breakfast, lunch and supper
I pray that there is no food poisoning or hi-jinks by one and all only smiles, laughter and especially energy for you! Good luck my friend, I hope and pray the chemotherapy works, if it is auto-immune then that is the best specially if it is in the pill form. Hang in there (orange juice factory?) Mwah
Good morning, 17 years of Catholic education has produced an agnostic but I do believe in poetry. I can’t find the blog entry that I read early, early this morning on your site which outlined some of the details of your situation with mother and family–this prompted me to navigate away briefly to get this poem–so I’ll post it here. It seems keeping things whole is what you are about so here it is– as close as I ever come to spiritual advice btw.
Keeping Things Whole
BY MARK STRAND
In a field
I am the absence
of field.
This is
always the case.
Wherever I am
I am what is missing.
When I walk
I part the air
and always
the air moves in
to fill the spaces
where my body’s been.
We all have reasons
for moving.
I move
to keep things whole.
Prayers will be offered for your health and the wellbeing and good behavior of your family. (((HUGS)))
Having met your both of your brothers and your sister-in-law, I’ll phone the local SWAT team and have them on stand-by.
